Navaara Bahthirees
Navaara Bahthirees represents the year 1932, on which the first constitution of the Maldives was enacted. It was the beginning of the systematic codification of laws in the Maldives. Written constitution paved the way for the present human rights, democracy, decentralization, separation of powers, rule of law and good governance in the Maldives. For those reasons we believe that the year nineteen thirty two (in Dhivehi language Navaara Bahthirees) was the most significant year in the history of the Maldives.
Founders of Navaara Bahthirees (NGO) organized and conducted 29 episodes of Navaara Bathirees TV show. It was the first legal awareness series organized by a private party in the Maldives via mass media. After conducting 29 episodes of the TV program, our focus is now on two main initiatives of Navaara Bahthirees, namely Law initiative and Eco Initiative.
