Eco Initiative

Protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility. Everyone has a part to play in protecting and preserving the environment against any degradation.

Founders of Navaara Bahthirees visited almost all the atolls of Maldives and spent several years in four atolls of Maldives. Snorkeling, fishing and sandbank/uninhabited island trips were routine activities in those years. They spend hours to clean beaches and lagoons in some islands so that people can enjoy the real beauty of it. During those years, they saw human's impact on the environment. That is why we stand here today to start an initiative focused on preserving the environment by creating awareness.

We believe that protecting the environment is a responsibility of this generation as the enjoyment of the beautiful environment of Maldives is a right of the future generations.

Constitution of the Republic of Maldives (Section 22): “The State has a fundamental duty to protect and preserve the natural environment, biodiversity, resources and beauty of the country for the benefit of present and future generations. The State shall undertake and promote desirable economic and social goals through ecologically balanced sustainable development and shall take measures necessary to foster conservation, prevent pollution, the extinction of any species and ecological degradation from any such goals.” Constitution of the Republic of Maldives (Section 67 (h)): “The exercise and enjoyment of fundamental rights and freedoms is inseparable from the performance of responsibilities and duties, and it is the responsibility of every citizen to preserve and protect the natural environment, biodiversity, resources and beauty of the country and to abstain from all forms of pollution and ecological degradation.”

As our first project, we have introduced Eco Straw ® Maldives.

• Is to reduce plastic straws;
